Veterinary Science is designed to provide students with an opportunity to study the science of veterinary medicine, including animal anatomy and physiology, animal health, nutrition, and cause/prevention of disease. Students will learn various veterinary laboratory skills, surgical procedures, basic animal care, and scientific research. The target population is career preparatory students desiring to continue education after high school or to enter the workforce after graduation from high school. Students benefit from the course if they plan to enter college and purse a degree to enter the veterinary profession.
