Mission and Vision
The mission of the Work-Based Learning Program is to
assist in providing a highly trained, technologically sophisticated and career
oriented young work force. This is accomplished by developing partnerships
between business, industry, students, parents, school systems, coordinators,
post-secondary institutions, and registered apprenticeships which will lead the
participating student into meaningful careers.
WBL and YAP offer high school students a unique opportunity to prepare for future education and career goals by learning from an experienced mentor and practicing applicable skills in a workplace setting. Work-Based Learning and Youth Apprenticeship students are expected to excel in three major areas; academic performance, school and workplace behavior, and job performance.
